Noctowl -- Rainy day Review -- 164

I love this pokemon, but not in the rain. He gets HP water, no added resistances. This is going to be one of the pokemon who get no added usefulness in the rain :'/ Brings tears to my emoticons.

Special:

Noctowl (M) @ Choice Specs

Trait: Tinted Lens

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Shadow Ball
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Air Slash

Choice Specs brings up that Special Attack so that he can do some damage to his opponents, Shadow Ball is coverage, Psychic is strong hard hitting STA.... wait.... He's part normal :'/
Air Slash does give you STAB and a flinch every now and then, while HP Water gives you boosted coverage in the rain.

Special[Alt]:

Noctowl (M) @ Choice Specs / Leftovers

Trait: Tinted Lens

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef

Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)

- Shadow Ball / Roost
- Psychic
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Air Slash

Impressive difference, isn't it?
The only different part about this set here, is that you have given up the role of a sweeper for that of a Special tank, Modest is also an available nature. Specs moves can be exactly the same with more Special bulk, Tanking through opposing threats, or Leftovers and Roost can do you some good with less coverage but immediate healing, and gradual healing from Leftovers.

Overall, this guy sucks in the rain, no questions asked. Not the worst, considering he at least has HP water, but that's it.

Rating for the rain - 2.5/10
