What is GameFreak thinking???? Why must they hate Unova so much?!?! Simipour is no different from all the other Pokemon they think will be good in the rain…
(Attempt at a) Physical Sweeper:
Simipour (M) @ Flight Gem
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Waterfall
- Brick Break
- Acrobatics
- Shadow Claw
The Flight Gem is for even more power on Acrobatics. Waterfall is STAB, and it has a Flinch rate, the only upside of Rain use. Brick Break breaks Screens, and has a wide coverage range. Acrobatics is coverage against Grass types, and has boosted power with the Flight Gem. I get two boosts, so it’s really, really powerful! Finally, Shadow Claw just is a good move, and hits everything at least normally effective when coupled with Brick Break. It also has a crit rate, which is cool.
Now, the (attempt at a) Special Sweeper!
Simipour (M) @ Life Orb
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Scald / Hydro Pump
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Nasty Plot
The Life Orb boosts power, and helps you reach the Torrent point faster too! Scald is useable for both wifi and PO, since it has good power, high accuracy, and a Burn chance. Hydro Pump is for PO only, since it has much higher power but lower accuracy. (Accuracy is jacked up a lot on PO.) Ice Beam has a Freeze chance, and it covers Grass types. HP Ground covers Electric types, and has a large coverage range. Finally, Nasty Plot makes this guy’s Special Attack almost useable in RU.
Conclusion: This guy sucks, with rain and without rain. It’s only good part is the Rain boosts for Water attacks.
Rating In The Rain: 4/10
