Ah Brongzong, when used in the rain he has 0 weaknesses if his ability is Levitate. Oh wait! He technically is now weak to just water, go figure. Either way, he's very operational in the rain. This guy bosses people like nobodies business.
Either way, lets get down to business, and see what Bronzong has to offer us.
Physical:
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 128 Def / 128 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Psych Up
- Swagger
- Zen Headbutt
- Earthquake
Swagger + Psych up is really fun to pull with this guy, he can make great use of the multiplied attack, can really screw up special pokemon who don't want to switch out. Although, using Swag on a physical Sweeper or tank normally isn't a good idea.
Zen Headbutt takes care of your STAB needs, and gets some pretty nice coverage. While Earthquake gets amazing coverage as usual, keeping him up. The rain use of this set revolves around the fact that he can set up and wall a lot with no weaknesses thanks to the rain.
Special:
Bronzong @ Leftovers
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 196 Def / 60 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Calm Mind
- Psyshock
- Hidden Power [Water]
- Shadow Ball
Straight to the point here.
Calm Mind lets you get your Special attack up, so he can tank pretty well, while it pulls your Special Defense up, so that you're not just bossin around with your physical defenses. Psyshock can break through special walls, especially after 3+ Calm Minds, HP Water gets that awesome rain boost, takes out fire types who can still pound on you neutrally, and a steel type is pretty much one of their easiest targets in the rain to get a neutral blow on something. Shadow Ball gets nice coverage agaisn't other psychics, and pokemon like Starmie, Slowbro, and Slowking that resist both of his other attacks.
Overall, he gets great use in the rain just because of him losing his only weakness, he becomes an incredible wall.
Rating for the rain - 8/10
